Description

Get ready for a quick dinner that tastes like your favorite cheeseburger turned into the ultimate comfort food bake. This easy recipe is a hearty family dinner made with seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, melty cheddar cheese, and a simple baked topping, making it perfect for easy dinner nights, comfort food cravings, dinner ideas, and satisfying food ideas everyone will want again.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

3 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp butter or oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prepare the onion, garlic, potatoes, and cheese so everything is ready before cooking.

2. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat and add the butter or oil.

3. Add the diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.

4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.

5. Stir in the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper, then cook for 1 minute more.

6. Arrange the sliced potatoes evenly over the beef mixture in the skillet.

7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the potatoes and beef.

8. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and flour until smooth.

9. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the skillet ingredients.

10. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set and the potatoes are tender.

11. Let the pie rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.

12. Finish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Slice the potatoes thinly so they cook through evenly by the time the center sets.

Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly and gives the top a better texture.

Letting the pie rest before serving helps it hold together and makes cleaner slices.
