Description

One Hour Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect quick breakfast treat when you want soft, fluffy homemade rolls without waiting all morning. Filled with buttery brown sugar and cinnamon, then finished with a sweet vanilla glaze, this easy recipe is ideal for breakfast ideas, brunch spreads, holiday mornings, and cozy food ideas anyone can make at home.

Ingredients

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup warm milk

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of the flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt.

2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg, then mix until a sticky dough forms.

3. Gradually add the remaining flour until the dough becomes soft and workable.

4. Knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes in a warm place.

6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 12 x 15 inches.

7. Spread the softened butter over the surface of the dough.

8. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it evenly over the buttered dough.

9. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log.

10. Slice into 9 even rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.

11. Cover and let the rolls rise for 20 minutes until puffy.

12. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly golden on top.

13. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

14. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.

Notes

Use warm milk, not hot milk, so the yeast activates properly without being damaged.

Do not add too much flour or the rolls can turn out heavy instead of soft and fluffy.

Glaze the rolls while they are still warm so it melts slightly into the swirls for the best finish.
