Description

Easy Pecan Pie Brownies are the perfect easy dessert when you want a rich chocolate treat with a gooey pecan pie topping. This easy recipe combines fudgy brownies, buttery pecans, and caramel-like sweetness into one crowd-pleasing bake that works for holiday dessert tables, weekend baking, and everyday food ideas when you need a simple homemade sweet.

Ingredients

1 box brownie mix

2 large eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3 tablespoons water

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup light corn syrup

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, stir together the brownie mix, 2 eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.

3. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.

4. While the brownies bake, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.

5. Fold the pecan halves into the topping mixture until evenly coated.

6. Remove the partially baked brownies from the oven and carefully spread the pecan topping over the surface.

7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the topping is mostly set and the edges look done.

8. Cool completely in the pan, then chill briefly for cleaner slices if desired.

9. Lift out with the parchment and cut into 9 brownies.

Notes

Let the brownie base bake first so the pecan topping does not sink into the batter.

Cool the bars completely before slicing so the layers set neatly.

For extra flavor, lightly toast the pecans before adding them to the topping.
