Ingredients

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

3 tablespoons caramel sauce, plus more for topping

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch salt

1/2 cup mini marshmallows

1/4 cup whipped cream, optional

Instructions

1. Add the whole milk and heavy cream to a small saucepan over medium-low heat and warm until hot but not boiling.

2. Whisk in the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt until smooth and fully combined.

3. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and whisk until melted and silky.

4. Stir in the caramel sauce and vanilla extract until the cocoa is smooth and glossy.

5. Pour into 2 mugs and top with whipped cream if using.

6. Add mini marshmallows on top and finish with an extra drizzle of caramel sauce.

7. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Use medium-low heat so the milk stays smooth and does not scorch.

Whisk well when adding cocoa powder to prevent lumps.

Add the marshmallows just before serving so they stay soft and fluffy on top.
