Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

3/4 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)


Instructions

1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until combined.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

4. Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and most of the crushed peppermint candies.

6. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet and chill for at least 30 minutes.

7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

8. Place dough balls spaced apart and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.

9. Immediately sprinkle tops with remaining peppermint and powdered sugar.

10. Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

Notes

Don’t skip chilling – it’s the key to thick, chewy cookies that don’t overspread.

Use room-temperature butter for optimal creaming; melted butter won’t yield the same texture.

Add peppermint right after baking while the tops are still soft – this helps it stick better.
