Description

These Warm Spice Sweet Crunch Almonds are the perfect sweet-and-savory snack. Coated in a caramelized blend of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of cayenne, they deliver cozy spice in every crunchy bite. Ideal for gifting, snacking, or topping desserts like ice cream and oatmeal.

Ingredients

2 cups raw almonds

1 egg white

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Stir in vanilla extract.

3. Add almonds to the egg white mixture and stir to coat evenly.

4. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, and salt.

5. Pour the spice mixture over the almonds and toss until well coated.

6. Spread the almonds in a single layer on the baking sheet.

7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

8. Let almonds cool completely to crisp up before serving or storing.

Notes

Make sure to stir the almonds every 15 minutes—this ensures even baking and crispiness.

Let them cool fully before storing to maintain their crunch.

Adjust cayenne to taste or omit for a milder flavor.
