Description
These Voodoo Egg Rolls are a spicy, cheesy fusion of Southern and Asian flavors, loaded with seasoned ground beef, cream cheese, cheddar, and green onions. Fried to golden perfection, they’re the ultimate crispy snack for parties, game days, or comfort food cravings.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
4 oz cream cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp Cajun or Creole seasoning
12 egg roll wrappers
Oil for frying (enough for deep-frying, approx. 3–4 cups)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
2. Stir in Cajun or Creole seasoning while the beef is still hot.
3. Lower the heat and mix in the cream cheese until fully melted and smooth.
4. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions. Stir until melted and combined.
5. Lay an egg roll wrapper flat with one corner facing you. Add 2 tablespoons of the filling.
6. Fold up the bottom corner, then the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top corner with a dab of water.
7. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F. Fry 3–4 rolls at a time until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined rack to drain. Serve warm with dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra spice, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the filling.
Use an air fryer to reheat leftovers to maintain crispiness without refrying.
Seal the egg rolls tightly to avoid cheese leaks during frying.
