This Stick of Butter Baked Rice is an easy, oven-baked side dish made with simple pantry ingredients. A full stick of butter melts over rice flavored with French onion soup and beef broth, delivering rich, savory flavor and perfectly tender grains with crispy edges.
Ingredients
1 cup long grain white rice
1 can French onion soup
1 can beef broth
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
Salt and black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9 glass or ceramic baking dish.
- Add rice, French onion soup, and beef broth to the dish. Stir to combine.
- Slice the stick of butter into 6 to 8 pieces and place evenly on top of the rice mixture.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and continue baking uncovered for another 30 minutes.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving.
