Tender steak bites seared and smothered in a luscious Velveeta cheese sauce, served with pillowy cheese tortellini. A cozy and indulgent one-skillet meal perfect for comfort food nights or impressing dinner guests.
Ingredients
1 lb steak (sirloin or tenderloin), cut into cubes
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
1/2 cup milk or cream
12 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season steak bites with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites until browned on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add Velveeta and milk or cream. Stir until cheese melts into a smooth sauce.
- Cook tortellini in boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain well.
- Add cooked tortellini to the cheese sauce. Stir to coat.
- Return steak bites to the skillet. Heat for 1-2 minutes more.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
