Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo

Description

A smoky and creamy Cajun-style pasta dish packed with bold flavor from seared sausage, Cajun spices, and a luscious Alfredo sauce. Perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner or to impress guests with Southern flair.


Ingredients

12 oz smoked sausage (andouille or kielbasa), sliced

8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 tbsp butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1/2 cup reserved pasta water (optional)


Instructions

  1. Slice the smoked sausage into coins and sear in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook fettuccine in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, drain, and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and Cajun seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Return sausage and pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water if needed to thin the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley and extra Cajun seasoning if desired.
