Shrimp and Steak Fried Rice

Description

A savory and indulgent fried rice loaded with tender steak, juicy shrimp, fluffy scrambled eggs, and colorful vegetables. Finished with a drizzle of soy sauce and sesame oil, it’s the ultimate homemade takeout dish.


Ingredients

8 oz sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced

8 oz large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cups cold cooked jasmine or long-grain rice

2 large eggs, beaten

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, minced

1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, scallions)

3 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Sesame seeds and extra sliced green onions, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Slice steak and season lightly; pat shrimp dry.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Sear steak 2-3 min; remove. Cook shrimp 1-2 min per side; remove.
  3. Add oil, scramble eggs until just set; push to side.
  4. Add garlic, ginger, rice, and vegetables. Stir-fry until heated and slightly crisp.
  5. Return steak and shrimp. Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss well and adjust seasoning.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve hot.
