Description

If you love quick dinners and creamy comfort food, this Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole will be your new go-to. It’s a perfect blend of tender shredded chicken, tangy sour cream, and melted cheddar, topped with a buttery, crunchy cracker crust. Ideal for busy weeknights, potlucks, or cozy weekends at home. This easy recipe delivers the kind of flavor and texture that makes everyone at the table ask for seconds. Whether you’re meal prepping or just need a quick family dinner, it fits the bill perfectly—one of those effortless dinner ideas you’ll come back to again and again.

Ingredients

2 ½ cups shredded cooked chicken

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

¾ cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 sleeve (about 30) Ritz crackers, crushed

4 tablespoons butter, melted

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix together shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.

3. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

4. In another bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter until fully coated.

5. Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken mixture.

6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the top is golden and edges are bubbling.

7. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t add the cracker topping until just before baking if prepping ahead—this keeps it crisp.

For a richer taste, try using sharp cheddar or even a mix of cheeses.

Let the casserole rest a few minutes after baking to make it easier to serve clean slices.
