Description
Red Lobster’s Cheese Biscuit Loaf brings all the flavors of their iconic cheddar bay biscuits into a warm, golden loaf. With a soft, fluffy crumb and melty cheddar throughout, it’s perfect as a side for soups or enjoyed on its own. Quick to prepare and endlessly comforting.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dried parsley (plus more for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
3. Stir in the buttermilk and melted butter until just combined.
4. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese gently.
5. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. While warm, brush the top with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and a pinch of parsley.
8. Let it cool slightly on a rack before slicing.
Notes
For a more intense flavor, use sharp cheddar and sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking.
Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps the loaf soft and biscuit-like.
If you don’t have buttermilk, combine 1 cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
