Description
This Quick Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry is a 30-minute meal packed with juicy chicken, crisp vegetables, and a sticky-sweet garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights and better than takeout!
Ingredients
1 lb chicken breast or thighs, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 cups broccoli florets
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 carrot, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon cornstarch (plus extra for coating chicken)
1/3 cup water or chicken broth
1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, water or broth, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
2. Toss chicken pieces in a small amount of cornstarch to coat.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until golden and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
4. In the same wok, stir-fry broccoli, carrots, and red bell pepper for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
5. Return chicken to the wok, pour in the sauce, and stir to combine. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
6. Serve hot over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and a drizzle of sesame oil if desired.
Notes
For extra crispy chicken, fry in batches and don’t overcrowd the pan.
Feel free to substitute veggies with snap peas, mushrooms, or zucchini based on what you have.
To make the sauce spicier, add 1 teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
