Description
A creamy, coconut-rich holiday drink from Puerto Rico, the Coquito is the island’s answer to eggnog. Made with a blend of coconut milk, cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, spices, and rum, it’s festive, smooth, and deliciously indulgent. Best served chilled with a cinnamon stick.
Ingredients
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
1 can (15 oz) cream of coconut
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 cup white rum
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Instructions
1. Add coconut milk, cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk into a blender. Blend for 30 seconds until smooth.
2. Add vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Blend briefly again to mix.
3. Pour in white rum and blend once more until everything is combined.
4. Use a funnel to transfer mixture into glass bottles or jars.
5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to chill and allow flavors to develop.
6. Shake well before serving. Serve cold, garnished with a cinnamon stick.
Notes
For a thicker texture, reduce the amount of evaporated milk slightly or chill for longer.
Adjust the rum to taste—less for a lighter version, or substitute with spiced rum for extra flavor.
Always shake the bottle well before serving to recombine any separation from chilling.
