Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium red bell pepper, diced
1 medium green bell pepper, diced
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 cups cooked rice (cold, day-old preferred)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh chopped parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Sear the Beef
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside. - Sauté Aromatics
In the same skillet, add the remaining oil. Add chopped onion and sauté for 2 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. - Cook Bell Peppers
Add diced red and green bell peppers. Cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp. Add smoked paprika and chili powder and stir well. - Create Sauce Base
Stir in tomato paste, soy sauce, and honey. Mix until ingredients are well combined and the sauce thickens slightly. - Add Rice and Beef
Return beef to the pan along with the cooked rice. Toss everything together, ensuring the rice is evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for another 3–4 minutes. - Final Touches
Adjust seasoning to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if using. Serve hot.
