Description

This One Pan Healthy Ground Beef Pasta is a wholesome, quick, and family-friendly dish. Made with lean ground beef, tender pasta, fresh spinach, and a savory tomato broth, it’s the perfect weeknight meal that balances nutrition with bold flavor—all in under 30 minutes and using just one skillet.


Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound lean ground beef (90/10)

2 cups beef broth

1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

8 ounces pasta shells (uncooked)

3 cups fresh spinach

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Optional: fresh parsley or Parmesan for garnish


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and soft.

2. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook while breaking it apart until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

3. Stir in diced tomatoes with their juices and beef broth. Mix well to combine.

4. Add pasta shells to the skillet, stirring to submerge them in the liquid. Cover and let simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Once pasta is tender, stir in the fresh spinach. Cook until wilted, about 1–2 minutes.

6. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

7. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley or Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta—check for doneness around the 10-minute mark to keep it al dente.

You can use frozen spinach in place of fresh, just be sure to thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.

Want a creamy variation? Stir in 1/4 cup of cream cheese or Greek yogurt after the spinach wilts.
