Description
A cozy, flavor-packed meal in under 20 minutes using just one pan! These juicy, golden-bottomed dumplings are glazed in a sweet-spicy sesame soy sauce and finished with scallions and sesame seeds. No deep fryer. No separate sauce bowl. Just simple comfort, done fast.
Ingredients
12 to 15 frozen dumplings
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon chili crisp (or chili oil)
2 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
1 tablespoon neutral oil (for pan)
1/4 cup water
Instructions
1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high and add 1 tablespoon oil. Arrange dumplings flat-side down in a single layer. Sear for 2–3 minutes until bottoms are golden.
2. Pour in 1/4 cup water and cover with a lid. Let dumplings steam for 4–6 minutes until tops are tender and the filling is cooked.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and chili crisp.
4. Uncover the pan and allow any remaining water to evaporate. Pour in the sauce and toss gently to coat.
5. Let the sauce bubble for 1–2 minutes until sticky and thickened. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
Use a non-stick skillet with a fitted lid to ensure perfect steaming without sticking.
Chili crisp adds texture and heat—adjust the amount based on your spice preference.
For extra veggies, toss in shredded carrots or snap peas during the steam step.
