Description
No Peek Beef Tips is the ultimate oven-baked comfort food. Tender beef chunks slowly cook in a savory blend of brown gravy, onion soup, and mushroom soup—all without touching the lid. Ideal for busy days when you want a fuss-free, flavorful meal that practically cooks itself.
Ingredients
2 pounds beef stew meat
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
1 cup water
1 cup diced mushrooms (optional)
1 small onion, diced (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Lightly grease a roasting pan or casserole dish with lid.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown gravy mix, cream of mushroom soup, Lipton onion soup mix, and water until smooth.
3. Add the beef stew meat to the roasting dish and top with mushrooms and onions if using.
4. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef. Ensure it’s evenly coated.
5. Cover the dish tightly with a lid or aluminum foil.
6. Bake for 3 hours—do not lift the lid or peek during this time.
7. Remove from oven, stir gently, and serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
Do not lift the lid while cooking—this traps the steam that tenderizes the meat.
For a deeper flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or red wine to the sauce.
Serve with a starchy base like mashed potatoes to soak up the rich gravy.
