1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cake Base

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup sour cream

Apple Filling

2 medium apples, peeled and diced

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp butter

Creamy Layer

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crumble Topping: In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until crumbly. Set aside.
  2. Make the Apple Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until softened. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet, alternating with sour cream.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Layer: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
