Maple Melty Breakfast Sandwich

  • Author: Julia Koch
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 sandwich

Description

The Maple Melty Breakfast Sandwich combines crispy English muffins, savory sausage, gooey cheddar cheese, and a sweet maple drizzle for the perfect sweet-and-savory breakfast. Easy to prepare and endlessly comforting, it’s ideal for busy mornings or weekend brunch.

Ingredients

1 English muffin

1 sausage patty

1 large egg

1 slice cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Instructions

1. Toast the English muffin until golden and crisp.

2. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patty until browned on both sides and fully cooked through. Set aside.

3. Crack the egg into a small bowl, then gently slide it into the skillet. Fry until the whites are set and yolk is cooked to your liking.

4. Place the cheddar slice on the hot sausage patty and cover with a lid for 30 seconds to melt.

5. Assemble: Place the sausage and cheese on the muffin bottom, top with the fried egg, drizzle maple syrup, then close with the top muffin.

6. Serve warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For extra crispness, butter the inside of the English muffin before toasting.

Swap in bacon or a plant-based patty for variations.

To avoid sogginess, assemble the sandwich just before eating and serve warm.
