Description

These Jam Donut French Toast Rolls are a playful, indulgent fusion of jelly donuts and golden French toast. With a warm, gooey jam center wrapped in crisp, buttery bread, they’re perfect for brunch or breakfast-in-bed moments. Each roll is dipped in a simple custard, pan-fried until golden, and finished with a dusting of powdered sugar—just like your favorite bakery donut.


Ingredients

2 slices white sandwich bread

1 tablespoon strawberry or raspberry jam

1 egg

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon powdered sugar


Instructions

1. Trim crusts off the bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.

2. Spread jam on one side of the bread and roll tightly.

3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together egg and milk.

4. Dip each rolled bread in the egg mixture, coating all sides.

5. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

6. Place rolls seam-side down in skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden.

7. Remove and dust with powdered sugar.

8. Serve warm with extra jam if desired.

Notes

Flatten the bread evenly to prevent tearing while rolling.

Don’t oversoak the rolls in egg mixture—just coat quickly.

For crisp edges, fry in butter and serve immediately.
