Ingredients
225g unsalted butter
400g granulated sugar
300g all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
120ml whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons baking powder
Powdered sugar for dusting (about 3 tablespoons)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly.
7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Let the cake cool in the pan. Once cooled, dust generously with powdered sugar.
