Description

A perfect blend of sweet, savory, and garlicky goodness, these Honey Garlic Chicken Rice Bowls are quick to make and deeply satisfying. Juicy chicken bites are seared and coated in a sticky glaze, served over fluffy white rice with a fresh sprinkle of green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

Soy sauce

Honey

Fresh garlic, minced

Rice vinegar

Cornstarch

Cooked white rice (jasmine or long grain)

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sear the Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add cubed chicken in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, flip, and continue until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic over medium heat until fragrant. Add soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Stir and simmer.
  3. Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch with cold water and slowly add to the simmering sauce. Stir until thick and glossy.
  4. Combine and Glaze: Return chicken to the skillet and toss in the sauce. Let simmer briefly to absorb flavor.
  5. Serve: Spoon rice into bowls, top with chicken, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
