Description
These Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts are seared until golden then coated in a glossy, sweet-savory sauce made with honey, garlic, and soy. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re the perfect quick dinner for weeknights that still feels like something special.
Ingredients
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
4 cloves garlic minced
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
1 tablespoon chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear the chicken breasts for 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp of 165°F or 74°C).
4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
5. Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
6. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
7. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
8. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes (if using) and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
9. Serve hot with rice, potatoes, or vegetables.
Notes
For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before searing.
Use low-sodium soy sauce to prevent the sauce from becoming overly salty.
Double the sauce if serving with rice or noodles—it’s great for drizzling!
