Description
A rich and velvety Homemade Alfredo Sauce made with butter, cream, garlic, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. This creamy classic takes less than 20 minutes to make and turns any pasta dish into pure comfort.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cups heavy cream
3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes to slightly reduce.
4. Lower the heat and slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
5. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg if using.
6. Serve hot over your favorite pasta. Use immediately for the best creamy consistency.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for smooth melting and flavor. Avoid pre-shredded versions.
Keep the heat low while adding cheese to avoid curdling or grainy texture.
