Description

Haystack Treats are a quick and nostalgic no-bake dessert made from crispy chow mein noodles coated in melted chocolate and butterscotch. These crunchy clusters are ideal for parties, holidays, or any time you need a fun, fuss-free sweet. Customizable with toppings like sprinkles or marshmallows, they’re a treat both kids and adults love.


Ingredients

2 cups chow mein noodles

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

2 tablespoons peanut butter (optional)

¼ cup mini marshmallows or sprinkles (optional)


Instructions

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips.

2. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.

3. Stir in the peanut butter if using, and mix until incorporated.

4. Add the chow mein noodles and gently fold with a spatula until fully coated.

5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined sheet using a spoon or cookie scoop.

7. Optionally top with mini marshmallows or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.

8. Let the haystacks set at room temperature for 30–60 minutes or chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes.

9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
