Cheese-filled tortellini tossed in a creamy garlic butter sauce with savory beef, spiced Italian sausage, and fresh spinach for a comforting yet elegant pasta dinner.
Ingredients
500 g cheese tortellini
200 g ground beef
200 g Italian sausage
150 g fresh spinach
4 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Italian herbs
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking into small pieces. Drain excess fat.
2. In a deep saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package instructions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
3. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet with the meats. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Pour in heavy cream, stir, and simmer until slightly thickened.
5. Add tortellini and spinach to the skillet. Toss gently until spinach wilts.
6. Stir in Parmesan cheese, season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Adjust sauce with reserved pasta water if needed.
Notes
Reserve pasta water—it’s the best way to adjust sauce consistency.
For extra depth, brown the meats well before adding garlic.
Add vegetables like mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
