Description
These Firecracker Chicken Skewers are a spicy, sweet, and savory hit fresh off the grill. Juicy chicken pieces are marinated in a bold sauce, grilled to perfection, and topped with sesame seeds and fresh herbs. They’re easy enough for a weeknight and impressive enough for guests.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into chunks
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Wooden or metal skewers
Sesame seeds and chopped cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sriracha, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Add chicken chunks and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes.
- Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.
- Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
- Cook skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning every few minutes, until chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve hot.
