Description

Festive Christmas Bread is a soft, buttery loaf bursting with holiday cheer. Speckled with colorful candied fruits and topped with a sweet glaze and festive sprinkles, it’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or gifting. Moist and rich with a tender crumb, this bread is both nostalgic and easy to make—a cozy holiday classic!

Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

½ cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup red candied fruit bits

½ cup green candied fruit bits

½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

3 tablespoons holiday sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar using a mixer until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.

5. Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk, mixing until just combined.

6. Gently fold in red and green candied fruit bits using a spatula.

7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until a glaze forms.

11. Drizzle glaze over cooled bread and top with holiday sprinkles.

12. Let the glaze set before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use room temperature butter and eggs to help the batter mix evenly.

Don’t overmix after adding flour—this keeps the bread soft and tender.

Let the bread cool fully before glazing to avoid a melted, runny glaze.
