Description

Fall Off the Bone Tender is the ultimate slow-cooked beef dish that transforms tough cuts like chuck roast or short ribs into rich, juicy, fork-tender perfection. Braised in a flavorful mix of garlic, herbs, broth, and Worcestershire sauce, this roast is a comfort food classic ideal for cozy gatherings or a satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

3 lbs chuck roast or beef short ribs

1 tbsp olive oil

1 large onion, sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

3 sprigs fresh thyme

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

2. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven. Season the beef with salt and pepper.

3. Sear the beef on all sides until browned, then remove and set aside.

4. In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until soft.

5. Deglaze the pot with a splash of beef broth, scraping up brown bits.

6. Return the beef to the pot. Add remaining broth, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, and thyme.

7. Cover with lid and transfer to the oven. Braise for 3 to 4 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.

8. Remove from oven, spoon juices over meat, and let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the meat rest after cooking to retain maximum juiciness.

Always sear the beef first—it boosts flavor dramatically.

Use low-sodium broth if you want to control salt content better.
