Description
A handheld twist on the French classic, this Easy Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich combines juicy grilled chicken, smoky ham, and melty Swiss cheese inside a toasted baguette. With crisp lettuce and a swipe of Dijon mustard, it’s perfect for a cozy lunch or quick dinner.
Ingredients
2 grilled chicken breasts
4 slices smoked ham
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 crusty sandwich rolls or half a baguette
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
4 leaves romaine lettuce
4 slices tomato (optional)
Instructions
1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Grill over medium heat until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest, then slice.
2. Slice the baguette lengthwise and brush the inside with butter or olive oil.
3. Layer sliced grilled chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese onto the bread.
4. Toast in a broiler or toaster oven until the cheese melts and the bread is golden.
5. Add lettuce and optional tomato slices. Spread Dijon mustard.
6. Close the sandwich, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
Let the grilled chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy and tender.
Use a toaster oven or broiler to avoid soggy sandwiches and melt the cheese evenly.
For a crispier sandwich, lightly press it while toasting to create a panini-style texture.
