Ingredients
½ cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
3. Add egg and vanilla extract; whisk until well combined.
4. Stir in flour, salt, and cinnamon until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
6. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and additional cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the top.
7. Bake for 22–26 minutes or until edges are golden and center is set.
8. Cool for 20 minutes in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
For a thicker cinnamon crust, double the cinnamon sugar topping before baking.
