Ingredients
2 pounds frozen cheese ravioli
3 cups marinara sauce
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
1 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. If using meat, brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain and set aside.
3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the dish.
4. Add a layer of frozen ravioli directly on top of the sauce.
5. Spoon more sauce over the ravioli, followed by the cooked meat, dollops of ricotta, mozzarella, and a sprinkle of parmesan.
6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and parmesan on top.
7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
9. Let rest for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Don’t thaw the ravioli. Layer them straight from the freezer so they hold their texture and cook evenly.
Cover with foil for moisture. This step keeps the top from browning too quickly and ensures everything heats through properly.
Use a deep dish if adding extras. If you’re using meat, spinach, or extra cheese, a deeper casserole dish will prevent spillover.
