Description
Spicy, creamy, cheesy and baked to golden perfection, these jalapeño poppers are the ultimate party appetizer. With their crisp pepper shell and rich, melty filling, they’re easy to make and even easier to devour.
Ingredients
12 fresh jalapeños
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices cooked bacon, chopped (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes using a spoon (wear gloves).
3. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
4. Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
5. Place poppers on the baking sheet, cheese side up.
6. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
7. Let cool slightly for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation from the oils.
Don’t overfill the peppers to prevent cheese from spilling out during baking.
Freeze unbaked poppers for later — just bake from frozen with a few extra minutes added to the cook time.
