Description

Savory Garlic Butter Green Beans are a quick, flavorful side dish that elevates any meal. Lightly blanched and sautéed with aromatic garlic butter, these green beans offer a bright, crisp, and buttery bite with just a hint of lemon. Whether for a weeknight dinner or a festive holiday meal, they add vibrant color and flavor to your plate.


Ingredients

300g fresh green beans

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)


Instructions

1. Rinse and trim the ends off the green beans. Cut in half if desired.

2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green.

3. Drain immediately and transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking.

4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5. Add drained green beans to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper.

6. Toss to coat the beans in garlic butter and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

7. Finish with a splash of lemon juice if using. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t skip the ice bath after blanching; it keeps the beans crisp and vibrant.

Be sure not to brown the garlic—it can turn bitter; sauté just until fragrant.

To make this ahead, blanch the beans in advance and refrigerate. Sauté just before serving.
