Description
Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings are a fast, no-fuss dessert made with crescent dough, tart apples, and a bubbling cinnamon-butter glaze. Baked until golden with a touch of soda magic, they create a syrupy sauce that’s cozy, nostalgic, and impossible to resist.
Ingredients
8 Granny Smith apple wedges
1 8-ounce can crescent roll dough
1 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Peel and core the apples, slicing into 8 wedges.
3. Unroll crescent dough and place one apple wedge on each triangle. Roll up from wide end.
4. Arrange dumplings seam-side down in the prepared dish.
5. In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
6. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and mix well.
7. Pour the sauce evenly over the dumplings.
8. Pour the soda carefully around the edges of the dumplings.
9. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For extra crisp tops, brush dough with a little melted butter before baking.
Don’t skip the soda—it’s key to the caramel sauce texture.
For a deeper apple flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to the cinnamon mixture.
