Description

Looking for an easy dinner idea that delivers restaurant-level flavor in under an hour? This Creamy Mushroom Asiago Chicken is perfect for your next cozy meal. Juicy seared chicken breasts are nestled in a rich, savory Asiago cheese sauce with caramelized mushrooms and garlic. It’s a quick dinner, a comfort classic, and a beautiful recipe to serve guests. Ideal for weeknight meals, dinner ideas, or anytime you’re craving a creamy chicken dish.

Ingredients

2 chicken breasts

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup Asiago cheese, freshly grated

1 tablespoon fresh parsley or thyme, chopped

Instructions

1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook for 6–8 minutes until caramelized.

4. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

5. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping the browned bits. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

6. Reduce heat, add heavy cream, and whisk until smooth.

7. Stir in freshly grated Asiago cheese until melted and creamy.

8. Return chicken to the pan, coat with sauce, and let everything heat through for a few minutes.

9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated Asiago—it melts more smoothly into the sauce.

Don’t overcrowd the pan when browning mushrooms; this ensures perfect caramelization.

Add a splash of cream or broth when reheating to restore the sauce’s silky texture.
