Description

This Crack Breakfast Casserole is the ultimate make-ahead morning comfort food. Packed with crispy bacon, seasoned sausage, hash browns, and a creamy egg mixture, it’s topped with melty cheese and green onions for a breakfast that’s rich, savory, and seriously addictive.

Ingredients

12 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage

1 cup cooked and chopped bacon

1 package (30 oz) frozen hash browns

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then chop and set aside. In the same skillet, brown the sausage and drain excess fat.

3. Spread frozen hash browns evenly across the bottom of the baking dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

4. Layer cooked sausage over the hash browns. Add dollops of cream cheese across the surface.

5. Sprinkle chopped bacon and shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage and cream cheese.

6. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, green onions, salt, and pepper.

7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.

8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.

9. Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, until the center is fully set and the top is golden brown.

10. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let the casserole sit for 5–10 minutes after baking for easier slicing and better structure.

For extra crispiness, bake uncovered for the last 15 minutes.

You can assemble this casserole the night before and refrigerate—just bake it fresh in the morning.
