Description

Classic Apple Crisp brings together tender spiced apples and a buttery oat topping for the ultimate cozy dessert. It’s an easy-to-make favorite with nostalgic charm and modern convenience—perfect for any time of year, especially during fall apple season.

Ingredients

6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 or 9×13 baking dish.

2. Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon flour.

3. Spread apple mixture evenly in the baking dish.

4. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

5. Cut in cold butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs.

6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.

7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until topping is golden and apples are bubbly.

8. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

Use a mix of apple types for a more complex flavor—Granny Smith and Honeycrisp are great together.

Cold butter is key for a crumbly topping; avoid using softened or melted butter.

You can prep this a day ahead—assemble and refrigerate, then bake fresh before serving.
