A warm, sugar-dusted loaf that captures everything you love about a cinnamon donut. Soft inside, crisp on top, and bursting with comforting cinnamon and vanilla flavors.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
1 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
For topping: 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Brush warm bread with 2 tbsp melted butter.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle on top.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
