Cinnamon Donut Bread Recipe

Description

A warm, sugar-dusted loaf that captures everything you love about a cinnamon donut. Soft inside, crisp on top, and bursting with comforting cinnamon and vanilla flavors.


Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

1 cup milk

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

For topping: 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Brush warm bread with 2 tbsp melted butter.
  8. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle on top.
  9. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
