Description
Churro Saltine Toffee is the perfect blend of sweet, salty, and spiced flavors. It layers crisp saltine crackers with buttery brown sugar toffee and a generous churro-style cinnamon-sugar topping. Fast to make and wildly addictive, it’s ideal for holidays, gifts, or spontaneous cravings.
Ingredients
40 saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup white chocolate or cream cheese frosting (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or foil and place the saltine crackers in a single layer.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar. Stir constantly. When it begins to boil, allow to bubble for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
3. Pour the toffee over the saltines and spread evenly using a spatula.
4. Bake for 5–6 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling.
5. While hot, sprinkle a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon evenly across the top.
6. Let cool slightly, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
7. Once set, break or cut into squares. Add a drizzle of white chocolate or a smear of cream cheese frosting for extra indulgence if desired.
Notes
For best crunch, use parchment paper to prevent sticking and keep the base intact.
Don’t over-boil the toffee—stick to 3 minutes for the perfect texture.
If cutting into neat squares, do so after chilling but before it gets too firm.
