Description

This Caramel Apple Fritter Bread is a cozy, cinnamon-spiced loaf layered with juicy apples and drizzled in a rich caramel glaze. Moist, fragrant, and easy to make—perfect for fall baking or year-round indulgence.

Ingredients

2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar (divided for batter and cinnamon swirl)

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk or buttermilk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought), for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

2. In a small bowl, toss diced apples with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Let sit while prepping batter.

3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, remaining cinnamon, and salt.

4. In another bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, remaining brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.

6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Top with half the apple mixture and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.

7. Repeat layering with remaining batter and apples. Swirl lightly with a knife.

8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

10. Drizzle warm caramel sauce over the top. Let it set before slicing.

Notes

For a deeper caramel flavor, use dark brown sugar in the swirl and topping.

Don’t overmix the batter—mix until just combined for the softest texture.

You can make your own caramel sauce or use a thick, high-quality store-bought version for convenience.
