Description
Brown Butter Fudge is a creamy, nutty, melt-in-your-mouth treat that’s perfect for holidays, dessert trays, or edible gifts. The browned butter adds rich caramel depth, and the texture is flawlessly smooth.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon crushed vanilla bean paste (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it foams and browns evenly. Remove from heat when golden.
2. Add sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar to the browned butter. Stir well and return to low heat until sugar is dissolved.
3. Remove from heat and add white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
4. Mix in vanilla extract, salt, and vanilla bean paste if using.
5. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and pour in the fudge mixture. Spread evenly and tap the pan to release bubbles.
6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
7. Once set, lift out using parchment paper and cut into squares with a sharp knife.
Notes
Browning the butter properly is key—watch for golden color and nutty aroma.
For a clean cut, warm your knife and wipe it between each slice.
Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness; refrigerate or freeze as needed.
