Description

These chicken thighs are seared to golden perfection, then simmered in a rich, garlicky cream sauce that tastes like it came straight from a restaurant kitchen. Comforting and luxurious, this dish delivers big flavor with minimal fuss — perfect for cozy dinners and impressing guests alike.

Ingredients

6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

6 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup chicken broth

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and sear until golden, about 7-8 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Lower the heat and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and sautée for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes if using.

4. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.

5. Stir in the heavy cream, whisking to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

6. Return the chicken to the skillet, skin-side up. Spoon sauce over the chicken, cover, and let it simmer for 12-15 minutes until fully cooked through.

7. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving. Serve hot with your choice of sides like mashed potatoes or roasted veggies.

Notes

Searing the chicken skin-side down first is key to achieving a crispy texture without overcooking the meat.

If the sauce thickens too much when reheating, add a splash of broth or cream to loosen it.

Fresh garlic is essential — avoid pre-minced or jarred for the boldest flavor.
