Description
This Blueberry Cream Cheese Croissant Casserole is a buttery, fruity, custard-soaked bake that blends crisp croissants with tangy cream cheese and juicy blueberries. Perfect for brunches, holiday mornings, or whenever you want to impress with minimal effort.
Ingredients
8 large croissants (preferably day-old)
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1 cup fresh blueberries
4 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Powdered sugar for topping (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Slice croissants in half lengthwise. Arrange the bottoms in the dish.
3. Beat softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla until smooth.
4. Spread cream cheese mixture over croissant bottoms.
5. Scatter fresh blueberries over the cream cheese layer.
6. Add the croissant tops and gently press down.
7. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, remaining vanilla, and sugar until smooth.
8. Pour custard evenly over croissants. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
9. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
10. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Make sure the croissants are slightly dry to help soak up the custard without turning soggy.
If using frozen blueberries, thaw and drain them well to avoid excess moisture.
Letting the casserole rest before baking helps ensure even soaking and prevents dry edges.
