Description
Creamy, tangy, and loaded with herbs, this homemade ranch dressing is better than anything store-bought. It’s quick to make, perfect for salads, dipping veggies, or drizzling on wraps, and lasts all week in your fridge.
Ingredients
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 to 3/4 cup buttermilk (adjust for consistency)
1 clove garlic (minced) or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Pinch cayenne or paprika (optional)
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
2. Add garlic, dill, parsley, chives, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
3. Slowly whisk in the buttermilk until the dressing reaches your desired thickness.
4. Add lemon juice and cayenne if using, then taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
5. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
Notes
Let the dressing sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes so the herbs fully infuse the flavor.
For a thicker dip, use less buttermilk or chill uncovered briefly before serving.
Fresh herbs can be used instead of dried—just triple the quantity.
