Description
These Asian-Style Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps are a quick, healthy, and flavor-packed meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual entertaining. Juicy ground beef is sautéed with garlic, ginger, soy, and hoisin, then spooned into crisp lettuce cups and topped with crunchy veggies and scallions. They’re light, satisfying, and endlessly customizable.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp sesame oil
1 cup carrots, julienned
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
3 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
1 head butter lettuce or romaine, separated into leaves
Instructions
1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Set aside.
2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until fully browned and slightly crispy.
3. Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef. Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
4. Add the julienned carrots and sliced red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, keeping the vegetables crisp.
5. Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce leaves. Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use lean ground beef (90/10 or leaner) to avoid excess grease in the skillet.
For extra heat, stir in 1 tsp chili garlic sauce or a dash of crushed red pepper flakes.
You can prep the beef filling a day in advance and reheat it when ready to serve—just keep lettuce and toppings fresh.
