Description

A crispy twist on a classic! These Apple Pie Egg Rolls combine tender, spiced apple filling with a golden, crunchy wrapper. Perfect as a handheld dessert for parties, cozy nights, or whenever you’re craving apple pie without the fuss.

Ingredients

2 large apples, peeled and diced

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 teaspoons cornstarch

8 egg roll wrappers

Oil for frying

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.

2. Cook until apples soften, about 6-8 minutes, then stir in cornstarch to thicken. Remove from heat.

3. Lay out an egg roll wrapper, place 2 tablespoons of filling in the center.

4. Fold bottom corner over filling, tuck in sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with water.

5. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).

6. Fry each roll for 2-3 minutes or until golden, turning to ensure even browning.

7. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overfill the wrappers—a heaping tablespoon or two is plenty to avoid leakage.

For extra flavor, add a touch of vanilla extract to the apple filling.

If baking or air frying, lightly brush each roll with melted butter for maximum crispiness.
